Though there are a good number of books about the service academies, which are colleges, this is the only one written from a high school perspective.
It’s about a teenage boy who isn’t doing well in public school, grades getting worse, discipline problems. It’s about what it is like as a first year cadet in an all male military high school.
Most of the stories are basically true, events that actually happened, but not necessarily the exact way they are told or where they happened.
It is the author’s opinion that military schools are of incredible importance, especially for boys that are struggling. He contends that he was “rescued” by going to a military school. It changed his life forever, turning his life around 180 degrees.
